Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter Addresses Media after Leading a Team of Top Officials from his Ministry and Members of the National Assembly Committee on Energy, Communication and Information to Assess the Water Levels at Masinga and Kamburu Dams. The Water level at the Dams has dropped by eight meters due to the ongoing Dry Spell.

The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has assured Kenyans that in spite of the drought affecting various parts of the country, there will no power rationing as experienced in the past under the circumstances.

“The Government has instituted measures that facilitate the participation of women in the Energy space, by formulating and implementing the access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) as well as observing the one third gender rule.” stated PS Njoroge during the official opening of the Women in Energy Conference and Awards.
The Conference and Awards brought together men and women who are active participants in the energy sector to address the enlarging gender gap in the sector as well as to inspire, recognize and reward women’s participation.

CS Charles Keter and (CNPC) China National Petroleum Corporation Vice President, Zhao Zhengzhang signing the MOU amendment of the 350MW Geothermal steam production and power generation.

Kenya and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding to partner in the production of 350MW of geothermal power that will be generated in KenGen and GDC’s Menengai and Olkaria geothermal wells.
